Moorea Intercontinental
Overview
Close to Opunohu Bay on the northeast coast of the island, sheltered from the prevailing winds, the InterContinental Resort and Spa Moorea is located between the mountains and lagoon.
Situated in the heart of a verdant setting of 27 acres, these magnificent gardens contain 165 different species of trees, plants and flowers.
•17 Garden Suite Bungalows
•50 Overwater Bungalows- (29 Premium)
•28 Beach Suite Bungalows(also called "fare")
•48 Garden View Rooms
All decorated combining a respect for the local traditions with contemporary luxury. Noble woods and natural materials were elegantly used in the decor. These include parquet or bamboo, mahogany and wicker furniture and natural colored wall coverings. The furniture of distinguished and original lines, as well as objects made from Tahitian arts and crafts, (paintings, tapas...) compose a refined and harmonious ensemble and reinforce the Polynesian identity of this dream hotel. The only impediment to tradition (for the comfort of our guests), are the "fare" and rooms are all provided with a very modern air-conditioning system.
Besides the classic island excursions and a wide choice of nautical and sports activities, the hotel also offers more original activities such as the “Moorea Dolphin Center”, an incredible aquatic park where guests can swim and play with the dolphins. Also, they have a private lagoon to shelter the turtles because the hotel feels very concerned by their protection. The resort has entrusted the te mana o te moana association to manage the Sea turtles clinic. The Sea turtles clinic shelters and treats turtles found sick, wounded, mutilated or seized by the authorities.
There is also "Hélène’Spa", a centre of well-being that was the first Tahitian spa in Polynesia, and suggests a range of care treatments in small gorgeous “Fares” that are generously open to the surrounding nature.
